Apply to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and help update the SITES Accredited Professional (SITES AP) credentialing exam. GBCI is recruiting volunteer SMEs to assist with exam maintenance activities for the SITES AP credential, which will be published in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Examples of exam maintenance activities include
- Writing new exam questions.
- Reviewing accuracy and validity of exam questions.
- Reviewing a collection of questions slated to appear on the exam to ensure there is no overlap between questions.
Time frame
Exam maintenance activities will take place in the first half of 2025, with activities starting in early February.
Time commitment
Meetings are held remotely via Microsoft Teams and last approximately 1–3 hours, depending on the exam maintenance activity. Question writing will require spending additional personal hours to draft new exam questions, using a secure online system.
Qualifications
Subject matter experts must
- Be a SITES AP credential holder in good standing. Be knowledgeable on the SITES v2 rating system content, including, but not limited to, the exam references. Selection criteria include, but are not limited to, SITES project experience, years of experience in sustainable land development and related fields, and proficiency in the SITES v2 rating system.
- Agree to refrain from developing and/or delivering exam preparation courses for one year.
- Complete and submit all application documentation.
- Sign a nondisclosure and security agreement, if selected.
As an SME, you will gain beneficial experience exercising your commitment to sustainable land development and your knowledge of the SITES v2 rating system while earning continuing education hours. You will also have the opportunity to network with your peers around the world.
