The SITES Gold-certified Nina Park, located in Tsuen Wan and adjacent to Nina Tower, Nina Mall, and Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West, is a revitalization project by Chinachem Group. It is built on "leftover" land above a bus terminus that connects Nina Tower and Nina Mall. As the first and only wood fossil park in Hong Kong, Nina Park aims to provide visitors with an “edutainment experience” through a range of community and public educational programs infused with fossil knowledge. Designed to be an urban oasis with multiple functions, the Park integrates various sustainable design features to enhance visitor comfort and experience.
As one of Chinachem Group’s flagship CSR projects, Nina Park reflects the company’s commitment to society. It is designed to be people-centric, guided by principles of environmental preservation and sustainable development. The Park incorporates a wide range of sustainable features, including solar panel systems, a smart bench, an outdoor recharge bike, and the adoption of a “Sponge Park” concept. Community engagement is also a key component—public workshops, free guided tours, and light shows are regularly held for education and enjoyment. In addition to its prime location in the heart of Tsuen Wan—which enables the Park to function as a catalyst for economic growth alongside its adjacent developments—its environmental and social contributions make Nina Park an integral part of a sustainable urban precinct.
To achieve SITES Gold certification, Nina Park incorporates solar panels, smart furniture, wind catchers, natural ventilation, the sponge park concept, plant diversity, inclusive spaces, and community programs.
"SITES certification helps Nina Park reduce water demand, filter and reduce stormwater runoff, enhance biodiversity, and provide habitats for pollinators and wildlife," explained Mr. Alex Yeung, Sustainability Manager of Project Department, Chinachem Group. "This makes the park more sustainable and resilient."
